Kyiv plans to help the Syrians by providing them with grain, flour and oil. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Sunday, December 15, in his evening speech.
“Today I discussed with our officials – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture – issues of food aid within the framework of the Grain program from Ukraine, including aid for Syria,” the president said .
He explained that this is a humanitarian program of Ukraine, which has done a lot to stabilize the food situation in poor regions of the world.
“Now we can help the Syrians with Ukrainian wheat, flour, our oil – our products that work around the world to ensure food security We are contacting partners and the Syrian side – we have decided on logistics ,” he added.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine agreed to work to help Syria, in particular, the organization of security and humanitarian work.
Also, the leaders of the Group of Seven states welcomed the political changes that have begun in Syria and called for maintaining the unity of the country.
