Journalists asked Dmitry Peskov if they should expect a response from Russia with Oreshnik.
Russia’s response to Ukraine’s alleged attack on the city of Taganrog will certainly be – then and in a manner deemed appropriate. Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said this at a briefing on Thursday, December 12.
“I would like to remind you of the completely unclear direct statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, yesterday, which clearly states that there will be an answer, naturally, it will be later and in a way that is considered appropriate. But it will be followed,” he said.
This is how Peskov answered the question about Ukraine’s alleged attack on Taganrog using American ATACMS missiles. Journalists wonder whether Russia should expect a response using the Oreshnik system or other means.
The previous day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on December 11, Ukraine allegedly launched a strike with six ATACMS missiles on a military airfield in Taganrog, Rostov region. The department threatened a “response.”
And now the media reported that in Taganrog one soldier was killed and 41 were wounded. Not only the airfield was attacked, but also the aircraft repair plant, as well as the military unit.
The Pentagon also reported that Russia plans to attack Ukraine with an Oreshnik missile in the coming days, but the exact date of the possible attack is unknown.
