The family of the Syrian president flew to Russia days after the rebels launched their offensive.

The family of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has left the country and is in Russia. The Telegraph reported it.

The Assad family is understood to have fled to Russia days after rebel forces launched an offensive, seizing territory in northern Syria.

This happened after a source close to the Russian leadership said that Moscow has no plans to rescue the Syrian president.

Syrian President Asma al-Assad’s wife fled with her three children last week. Assad’s two sons-in-law also left Syria for the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, it is not known if the Syrian president himself stayed in the country.

Earlier, officials in Egypt and Jordan called on Assad to leave the country and form a government in exile.

We remind you that according to media reports, Assad has decided to leave Damascus. He went to Tehran for talks with Iran’s religious leader Ali Khamenei.
