A new position will appear in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has introduced a new full-time post in the army. Each brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will now have the position of a commissioner for the procurement of goods, works and services. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced this on social networks on December 4.
He signed an order that introduces a new full-time post in each brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the commissioner for the procurement of goods, works and services, the message says.
These individuals will be responsible for planning and organizing procurement, preparing tender documentation, market analysis, searching for suppliers, selecting and evaluating proposals.
Umerov claims that thanks to this, procurement for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be carried out quickly, transparently and taking into account the real needs of the soldiers.
A separate task for the commissioner will be to eliminate conflicts of interest. The minister believes that the new position will make it possible to distinguish between the combat responsibilities of the military and tasks related to procurement.
Let us recall that in November, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said that the Ministry of Defense had prepared proposals on how to reform approaches to mobilization, which it would propose to the Cabinet of Ministers for discussion, in particular, we are talking about abandoning the forced mobilization of men.
