In Lviv, Tekhnicheskaya Street in Lviv was renamed in honor of Irina Farion.
This decision was made on November 28 during a regular meeting of the Lviv City Council session.
The former Tekhnicheskaya Street, and now Irina Farion Street, connects Bandera Street from the Lviv Polytechnic campus with Ivan Franko Park and the space of the Ivan Franko LNU.
On September 2, Ivano-Frankivsk voted to rename Gvardeiskaya Street to Irina Farion.
Farion was killed in her yard on July 20. On July 26, 18-year-old Vyacheslav Zinchenko, a suspect in Farion’s murder, told reporters that “Farion didn’t do anything” and “didn’t kill anyone.” He refused to comment on his attitude towards neo-Nazi movements or talk about his attitude towards Russia as a state, but stated that he had a “completely negative” attitude towards the ruling regime there.
In October, Irina Farion’s son-in-law Vasily Osoba died in the war. The leader of the VO “Svoboda” Oleg Tyagnibok said that “in the battle with the invaders in the Seversky direction, a Ukrainian warrior, a patriot, our brother, a fighter of the Legion of Freedom, a mortarman, and senior soldier Vasyl Osoba died.”
Vasily defended Ukraine in the 4th battalion “Force of Freedom” of the Rapid Reaction Brigade of the NSU “Rubezh” and gave his life for the state.”
