Russian Putinist actor Vladimir Mashkov, who called for the seizure of Ukraine, was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison.
Also, an apartment with an area of 100 m² in an elite area on the coast of Odessa was confiscated from the attacker, the SBU reported.
Mashkov is part of the pool of Kremlin propagandists and often speaks at mass rallies in support of a full-scale war against Ukraine.
In December 2023, the defendant was appointed co-chairman of Putin’s “election headquarters” in the so-called Russian presidential elections. Then Mashkov traveled around Russia and the occupied regions of Ukraine, where he promoted rashism and glorified Russian military groups.
During pro-Kremlin “concerts and rallies,” he called for continued missile and bomb attacks on the civilian infrastructure of our state.
What is known about Mashkov
In 2003, in Kamenets-Podolsky, he shot the film “Papa” based on the play “Sailor’s Silence” by Alexander Galich (director, producer, leading actor).
In 2004, he starred in the film “Red America” (USA).
In 2007, he played the main role in the film Liquidation.
In 2011, a film with Mashkov’s participation was released – “Mission: Impossible: Phantom Protocol.”
He is active in the war against Ukraine. Supports the recognition of the “independence” of the terrorist groups DPR and LPR. Featured in the Myrotvorets center database as a person posing a threat to the national security of Ukraine and international law and order.
On his initiative, on March 29, 2022, a giant letter “Z” in the form of a St. George’s ribbon was hung on the facade of the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theater. Together with other supporters of Putin’s policies, on March 19, 2022, he performed at a concert dedicated to the eighth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.
Today on the building of our theater this symbol appeared for the Motherland, for our army, for the president, for the life of our children without the Nazis and Banderaites,” commented Mashkov.
