Mashkov is part of the Kremlin’s pool of propagandists and often speaks at mass rallies in support of an all-out war against Ukraine.
In December 2023, the defendant was appointed co-chairman of dictator Vladimir Putin’s “election headquarters” in the “presidential elections.” Then Mashkov traveled around Russia and the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine, where he glorified work groups.
Among other things, during pro-Kremlin “concerts and rallies,” he called for continued missile and bomb attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
The court found Mashkov guilty of encroaching on territorial integrity and inviolability and advocating war and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. Efforts are on to bring justice to the actor.
Let’s recall that last summer Mashkov and five other Russian actors were included in the list of people who threaten national security.
