France is still considering allowing Ukraine to use missiles to strike Russian targets.
Allowing Ukraine to strike military targets inside Russia remains an option on the agenda. This is what French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said, Reuters reported on Monday, November 18.
“We have openly said that this is an option that we will consider if it allows us to strike targets in areas where Russia is attacking Ukrainian territory. So there is nothing new on the other side,” he said.
Earlier, Le Figaro reported that France and Great Britain allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with their SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles, following the US agreement on long-range strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using ATACMS missiles.
US President Joe Biden, two months before the end of his presidential term, for the first time authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS to protect the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of Russia.
