The UN Security Council will meet for a special meeting.
On Monday, November 18, the United States of America will mark the 1,000 day mark of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga will arrive in the United States. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.
The head of the Ukrainian foreign policy department is expected to speak at a special high-level meeting of the UN Security Council amid increasing Russian aggression and terror.
This important measure was convened at the initiative of Ukraine by the UK, currently chairing the UN Security Council, and will draw the world’s attention to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the department noted.
In addition, Sibiga will hold a series of bilateral meetings in New York to strengthen support for Ukraine.
Let us recall that in October of this year, the head of the Eastern Europe department of the UN Population Fund, Florence Bauer, said that the Russian invasion in February 2022 turned the already difficult demographic situation in Ukraine into a more serious one.
Ukraine has lost a quarter of its population since the start of the full-scale invasion. Ukraine’s population has fallen by 10 million people, about a quarter, as a result of refugees leaving, falling birth rates and war deaths.
