The Kremlin hopes to return the territories seized by Ukraine before Trump’s inauguration on January 20. For this purpose, 50 thousand soldiers have been deployed there.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to return the territory of the Kursk region to Russian control before the inauguration of new US President Donald Trump in January next year. The Telegraph wrote this on Monday, November 11.

It was mentioned that for this, the Russian command deployed 50 thousand military personnel – Russian and North Korean – in the Kursk region.

“NATO allies believe that Putin hopes to return the territories seized by Ukraine through the inauguration of Trump on January 20,” the material said.

According to British military intelligence assessments seen by The Telegraph, Moscow is likely to increase the number of kamikaze drone attacks on Ukrainian positions in the coming days. The enemy may use new UAV launch sites near the border.

The publication writes that about 12,000 North Korean soldiers, sent by Kim Jong-un to support Moscow’s military efforts, are also likely to be involved in the battle in the Kursk region in accordance with the mutual military assistance pact in between Russia and North Korea, which ended this year.

Ukrainian analysts believe the Kremlin may also be looking to use its biggest counteroffensive in the Kursk region to gain momentum and push further into the Sumy region.

The publication notes that Russia has regained approximately half of the territory seized by Ukraine as a result of the Kursk region invasion in August. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that Ukrainian positions were being attacked by “tens of thousands of enemy soldiers from the best Russian strike units.”

“Western diplomats worry that Putin will try to quickly grab territory at Trump’s inauguration to give Russia more bargaining power in any peace talks,” The Telegraph summarized.

Earlier, the media wrote that the Russian counter-offensive in the Kursk region turned out to be a disaster. A few days later, Russia lost 28 armored vehicles (mostly modern BTR-82A) and more than 200 soldiers killed or wounded.

Syrsky named the activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Kursk
