The head of the Ministry of Strategic Industry, German Smetanin, emphasized that this cooperation will strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry and the protection of critical infrastructure.
The leading European arms manufacturer THALES Belgium, together with a Ukrainian company, will produce missiles to counter enemy drones. German Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries, spoke about this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, Ukraine hopes that in the future cooperation will expand to the transfer of technologies and components for these missiles.
“This cooperation will strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry and the protection of critical infrastructure from enemy drones,” the official stressed.
The head of the Ministry of Strategic Industry thanked THALES for expanding cooperation with Ukrainian defense companies and supporting the defense capability of our state.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine would start producing its own weapons in underground factories. One of the main reasons for this decision was the delay in providing military aid.
In addition, Ukraine used the new Palyanitsa drone missile for the first time. Zelensky said these were Ukrainian-made weapons and “a means of revenge against the aggressor.”
