Ukraine’s agriculture is so strong that it can threaten the EU, the Polish president believes.
The accession of Ukraine to the European Union requires a special agricultural policy, because its agriculture is very strong. Polish President Andrzej Duda said this in an interview with Trwam.
“If we are talking about the accession of Ukraine to the EU, then the issue of its agriculture requires detailed analysis, discussion and a special European policy in this area, because Ukraine’s agriculture is really very strong it could threaten the agriculture of the whole EU in its current form.” , he said.
Earlier, Ukrainian customs officials warned that Polish farmers could block cargo traffic in front of the Medyka-Shegini checkpoint until December 31.
As is known, from November 2023 to the summer of 2024, the Poles periodically blocked checkpoints on the Ukrainian border. They, in particular, demanded a ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
