Misinformation undermines public trust in government institutions and defense forces, the military said.
The dissemination of fake mobilizations is subject to criminal liability. The Ukrainian Ground Forces reported this on Saturday, October 19.
“Despite the extensive information and educational campaign carried out by the state in terms of explaining the activities of the mobilization, cases of dissemination of distorted and unverified information aimed at provoking and undermining the social situation- political within the country, inflaming social feelings among the population and, as a result, disrupting the mobilization became more often citizens of Ukraine in the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, “said the message.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine reminds that in Ukraine it is prohibited:
-
any distortions and manipulative interpretations of the requirements for mobilization measures;
-
dissemination of false information aimed at undermining state security measures;
-
giving any value judgment without clear reasoning and reliable facts and their dissemination through various channels (especially Internet media) for personal gain.
After all, all the above actions, according to the military, serve only one single purpose – to undermine public trust in state institutions and the defense forces of Ukraine as a whole.
“We note that the Law of Ukraine dated April 8, 2014 No. 1183-VII On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Section 1 of the Special Part of Crimes against Fundamentals of National Security of Ukraine is supplemented by Article 114-1 Obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations,” the Ground Forces added.
Note that according to this law, the competent authorities may initiate criminal proceedings against such persons to protect the legitimate activities of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the safety of citizens, which is the most important task of all parties of the security and defense sector of Ukraine.
“Speculative actions in the information space, consisting of direct accusations of apparently illegal actions by representatives of territorial recruitment and social support centers, will be investigated by law enforcement agencies within the limits of their powers and capability,” the military concluded.
At the same time, the Ground Forces noted that all existing violations on the part of the TCC and SP itself do not remain without proper assessment and control of the command of the Ground Forces. In each case, a proper legal assessment is provided with all the penalties provided by the current legislation of Ukraine.
We remind you that in the Chernihiv region a woman was fined 140 thousand hryvnias for informing about the movement of TCC and SP employees.
