The Mexican Navy seized the largest drug shipment in its history. The Navy press service reported it on Saturday, October 19.
“This is the largest amount of drugs seized during a maritime operation, unprecedented in the institution’s history,” the statement said.
A total of 8.4 tons of drugs of unknown type were seized. Local media estimate it at over 2 billion pesos ($100 million).
