Vladimir Putin is worried that his arrival in Brazil will create problems for President Lula da Silva.
War criminal Vladimir Putin will not attend the G20 leaders’ summit in Brazil in November, where he faces an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC). He said this at a meeting with media representatives of BRICS member countries, Russian media reported on Friday, October 18.
“We understand what is happening around Russia And I understand that I have a good, cordial relationship with the President (of Brazil – ed.) Well, am I going there to disrupt the normal work of this forum perfectly well ” that even if we do not include this ISS, all the talk is only about it, in fact, we will disrupt the work of the G20,” said Putin.
According to him, “we will find someone who will adequately represent the interests of our country in Brazil at a high level.”
Putin also called the ISS an “insignificant” organization, which is “not universal in nature and not independent.”
Let’s recall that on March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvovskaya-Belova. They are accused of illegally deporting thousands of children from Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said that his country, despite ratifying the Rome Statute and obligations to implement the decisions of the ISS, will not arrest Putin if he visits the G20 summit.
