This is about increasing pressure on the aggressor, which will be stronger for Russia than they can withstand. And this is about preventing a bigger war,” the president said.
Ahead of this, the Washington Post, citing a Ukrainian intelligence representative, wrote that several thousand North Korean soldiers are being trained in Russia. After this they can be thrown to the front.
South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said this week that North Korean troops are likely fighting in Ukraine. And last week, Ukrainian media reported the death of six North Korean soldiers as a result of rocket attacks in Russian-occupied territory in the Donetsk region.
The National Security and Defense Council confirmed that North Korean troops are already in Ukraine. We are talking, they say there, about a limited contingent of engineering troops.
However, according to expert Yongho Kim, there may be North Korean special forces in Ukraine. He calls them “very effective and strong.”
