Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held meetings with colleagues from France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany during the week. In particular, the parties discussed strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, increasing weapons production and using Russia’s frozen assets. The head of the defense department announced this on Sunday, October 13.
“I returned to Ukraine with concrete results after meetings with colleagues – the defense ministers of France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany I worked as part of the work of the delegation headed by President Vladimir Zelensky support and agreement that will bring us closer to victory.” All four countries have confirmed that investments in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex will grow,” Umerov said.

Umerov noted that it will be possible to produce equipment, weapons and ammunition for the Defense Forces within the framework of a fundamentally new format of cooperation.
“There will be more weapons for our defenders. The UK will provide AS-90 artillery mounts, long-range weapons and robotic systems, which will significantly strengthen our capabilities on the battlefield,” Umerov stressed.
The head of the Ministry of Defense also discussed with his European colleagues the use of fixed assets of Russia. Yes, Russia’s fixed assets will be used to finance our defense needs.
Umerov said that in France he personally became familiar with the training of the Ukrainian brigade. The minister emphasized that France not only trains, but also equips our units with modern weapons.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the governments and citizens of France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany for supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
Earlier, Umerov said that the Mirage 2000 aircraft, which will be transferred by France at the beginning of 2025, will be equipment so that Ukraine has an advantage over Russia.
The minister also spoke with British Defense Minister John Gealey in London and announced “good news” about long-range weapons.
