The Council generally adopted a bill on the procedure for contract military service by foreigners in the army.
There were 276 votes in favor in the parliamentary hall.
Important document. The main idea is to allow foreigners to be recruited not only as soldiers and sergeants, but also as officers.
In September, Law No. 12023 was voted on in the first reading.
The document proposes to create a Recruiting Center for foreigners and allow foreigners and stateless people to sign contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service and the National Guard.
At the Recruiting Center, foreigners will undergo a check, during which they will find out the legality of their stay on the territory of Ukraine, the facts of bringing them to administrative and criminal liability in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, signs of connections with intelligence and subversive activities of foreign states against Ukraine, as well as other circumstances that may hinder their acceptance a foreign citizen for military service under a contract.
To sign a contract, foreigners will have to undergo a special check of foreigners.
It will provide for establishing the legality of their stay on the territory of Ukraine. As well as facts of bringing to administrative and criminal liability in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. Identification of signs of connections of such a person with intelligence and subversive activities of foreign states against Ukraine. and other circumstances that may prevent such a person from accepting military service under a contract.
Also, candidates, upon their consent, will undergo a psychophysiological study using a polygraph. And they will have to give written consent to undergo such verification in the future during the validity of the contract for military service. Refusal to participate will be grounds for refusing to accept a foreigner for military service.
