Consequences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike on the largest oil depot in Crimea – “Schemes” publishes satellite images.
Planet Labs satellite images from October 8, available to Radio Liberty’s Schemes, show plumes of smoke at an oil depot in Feodosia, a city on the Black Sea coast in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recognized the “successful strike” of the missile forces and called this sea oil terminal “the largest in Crimea in terms of the volume of transshipment of used petroleum products, including to meet the needs of the Russian occupation army.”
Satellite images, in particular, show that as of 11.44 Kyiv time, a large-scale fire at the oil depot continues.
On the night of October 7, explosions were heard in Feodosia. Advisor to the Russian-controlled head of Crimea Oleg Kryuchkov announced a fire at the oil depot. The Feodosia occupation authorities reported the evacuation of more than a thousand city residents.
