Ukrainian border guards stopped a car with evaders outside the village of Sol, Uzhgorod region. There were five people in it – the smuggler and his “clients,” the State Border Guard Service reported on Saturday, October 5.
The men admitted that their goal was to get to Slovakia, and from there to other EU countries. After successfully crossing the border, they have to pay the organizer a reward of 30 thousand dollars.
An investigative team of the National Police was called to the scene of the incident. In the actions of the resident of Kiev they see signs of a criminal offense under the article on illegal migration of people across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A corresponding message was sent to the Uzhgorod regional department of the National Police. The investigation is currently ongoing.
