The former Secretary of the General Alliance recalled that many of Putin’s “lines” were crossed, but “he did nothing.”
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he was in favor of crossing Russia’s so-called “red lines” on the issue of the war in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.
According to him, at the beginning of a full-scale war there are days and weeks that they need to discuss and resolve issues along these lines. At that time, it was necessary to consider the risk, but stopping aid to Ukraine was not an option:
“For that matter, I forced myself to cross all the so-called red lines put by Putin And we crossed many of them, and he did nothing,” the former secretary of the general.
According to him, “the truth is that if President Putin wants to increase the use of weapons of mass destruction, he can do all the necessary reasons.”
“So far we have called his bluff,” Stoltenberg concluded.
As we wrote earlier, the former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte officially accepted the powers of Secretary General of NATO from his predecessor Jens Stoltenberg.
In addition, before this, Mark Rutte said that Ukraine is among NATO’s top priorities.
