The first towed howitzer “Bogdana-B” has already been built in Ukraine.
Work on this artillery system was first reported in December 2023. Then they said that the Ukrainian military-industrial complex could make more barrels than the chassis for the Bogdan self-propelled guns. They decided to use the remainder for the trailed version. This was reported by Defense Express.
Analysts studied the video published the day before by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In one of the frames, the Bogdana-B trailed howitzer “lit up.” However, neither the video itself nor the text annotation to it mentioned this weapon.
Experts identified this artillery system as a gun part of the 155-mm self-propelled artillery mount 2S22 “Bogdan”. It was mounted on a carriage, probably from the Soviet Giatsint-B trailed gun.
The combat weight, rate of fire and number of personnel for the Bogdan-B remain unknown.
Let us recall that on October 3, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine at one of the military training grounds presented to foreign partners the latest models of domestic weapons that have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield. They showed, in particular, the Stugna anti-tank missile system, the Bogdana self-propelled gun, armored vehicles and robotic systems.
