The High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced one of the former leaders to ten years in prison State Food and Grains Corporation (GPZKU) for illegal grain sales transactions. This was reported by the SAPS press service on Tuesday, October 1.
The message stated that on October 1, the High Anti-Corruption Court agreed with the position of the SAPO prosecutor and announced the verdict convicting one of the former heads of PJSC GPZKU of committing crimes under Part 4 of Art. 368, part 2 art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court imposed a general sentence of ten years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold office for three years with a fine of 17,000 UAH and confiscation of all property owned by him.
The accused was taken into custody in the courtroom.
The court also partially satisfied the claim of the State Public Prosecutor’s Office against the accused in the amount of more than 45 million UAH.
The SAPD did not name the convicted former official, but the Anti-Corruption Center (ACC) reported that we are talking about Anatoly Zavadsky.
Zavadsky was accused of having, in 2014, along with other officials, a scheme in which grain belonging to the State Grain Farming Company was sold at a reduced price to one of the international grain traders through a number of private intermediary companies controlled by officials. of State Grain Farming Grain and Grain Trader.
The grain bought at the reduced price was sold by the international grain trader at market prices, and the difference in cost was supposed to go into the accounts of one of the intermediary companies controlled by the accused.
According to the contracts, the grain was supplied on a cash-on-delivery basis, which did not comply with established market rules and exposed the state-owned enterprise to the risk of not receiving funds for the products. this.
In the end, PJSC GPZKU did not receive most of the funds for the grain sold. As a result, PJSC suffered losses amounting to over $60 million.
Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court seized the apartment of the head of one of the unified territorial centers of the city of recruitment and social support in the Vinnytsia region as state income.
Also, the High Anti-Corruption Court approved an agreement to plead guilty to a former deputy of the Ternopil Regional Council in a case of bribery, prohibiting him from holding certain positions for 2 years.
