The Taliban regime in Afghanistan has sent a written request to Moscow to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan in October. MoscowTimes wrote this on Sunday, September 22.
The application was also confirmed by the head of the Russian business center in Afghanistan, Rustam Khabibullin.
“The Afghan government has submitted a written application for the participation of the country’s top leadership in the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan on October 22-24,” Khabibullin said.
The letter, signed by Afghanistan’s acting Minister of Industry and Trade, Nuriddin Azizi, was addressed to Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Ushakov. This, in particular, indicates the importance of the participation of the Afghan authorities in the summit.
In early September, Taliban representatives visited the IX Eastern Economic Forum, held in Vladivostok. A member of the delegation, an employee of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Yonnas Hossein, spoke about the terrorist movement’s plans to establish contacts with Russian investors.
“I want to discuss the possibility of businessmen from our countries working together in Afghanistan – we have no corruption, no illegal substances, and the agricultural situation is favorable, so I want Russian businessmen to work in Afghanistan. ” he said.
