Trump, at a rally on the night of September 18 in New York, baselessly claimed that Biden was involved in hacking, despite the fact that law enforcement agencies said the exact opposite.

Iranian hackers stole information from Donald Trump’s campaign staff and sent it to Joe Biden’s campaign. CNN reports this with reference to the FBI and US intelligence services.

It was noted that in a joint statement by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, it is said that in late June and early July, Iranian attackers “sent emails to individuals associated with President Biden’s campaign at the time, containing excerpts from non-public material they stole related to former President Trump’s campaign.”

The statement also indicated that there were no signs of any reaction from the Biden campaign.

In addition, hackers supported by the Iranian government sent internal documents of the Trump campaign to the American media.

According to Morgan Finkelstein, a spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, the campaign has been cooperating with relevant law enforcement agencies since learning of the theft.

“We will not know if any materials were sent before the campaign started. However, many people have received messages to their personal email addresses that appear to be spam or similar to a phishing attack,” he said.

Trump, at a rally on the night of September 18 in New York, baselessly claimed that Biden was involved in the hack, despite the fact that law enforcement agencies received a completely opposite statement.

His campaign said Harris and Biden “should come clean about whether they used hacked materials” and argued it was “further evidence that the Iranians are actively interfering in the election” to help the Democratic Party. nominated.

According to US intelligence, along with Russia, Iran has become one of the most aggressive foreign states trying to influence the US presidential election, which will take place in 2024. At the same time, Iran uses the attacks of hackers and various information leaks in the same way as the Russian Federation did in 2016 to influence the US elections.

It can be recalled that in August, Iranian hackers attacked about ten people associated with US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
