Ukrainians have started receiving emails, allegedly from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, about a missile attack on the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, which resulted in increased radiation levels.
The letters also contain evacuation instructions and links to questionable resources, the Center for Countering Disinformation said.
The State Emergency Service did not send out such messages, and the structure’s emails were not hacked. These letters were probably sent to duplicate mailboxes and are part of a Russian information attack aimed at sowing panic among the population, discrediting Ukrainian government agencies and reducing the level of trust in them.
If you receive such a letter, mark it as spam and do not follow the links under any circumstances. If you do follow the link, contact the Cyberpolice, the National Police warned.
