The criminal group is looking for clients not only among Russian “evaders”, but also among Russians who are trying to avoid sanctions.
Moldovan law enforcement officials discovered a criminal group that helped Russian citizens illegally obtain a residence permit or Moldovan citizenship. This was reported by the local publication NewsMaker.
The Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (SPIA) reported that the criminal group included individuals and legal entities, each of which carried out its own activities. Entrepreneurs have created companies that offer migration consultations.
Investigators found that the group’s activities were supported by several employees of the Main Migration Inspectorate, whose duties included approving foreigners’ applications to obtain or restore citizenship, as well as to continue the right to remain in Moldova.
Members of the criminal group found Russian citizens who wanted to avoid military service or sanctions.
The Russians directly or through intermediaries approached the members of the group, who, for an amount ranging from $3,000 to $10,000, offered them assistance in obtaining a residence permit under fictitious employment contract or even restoration of Moldovan citizenship.
We remind you that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova, Adrian Efros, said that the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Artem Dmitruk, did not declare that he was a representative of the people and crossed the border of Moldova. The country accepted him as an ordinary citizen who left the territory where the war was going on.
