The military administration in the Cherkasy region has called on Hasidim to refrain from traveling to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, but is taking steps to strengthen security. “As in the previous years of the war, first of all, we recommend that believers consider the security situation in our country and refrain from visiting Uman with regular Russian attacks and attacks on civilian targets, provocations are not only threats, but unfortunately Ukrainian daily life… However, we understand that “, despite all this, some believers will still visit a place of worship therefore, we must be prepared,” he wrote.
The official added that local authorities will take all security measures for believers who still decide to visit the place of worship.
“The measures are comprehensive. We will inform you about them in the future well-being,” said the head of OVA.
Every year Hasidim come to Uman to visit the grave of Tsaddik Nachman. It is a place of pilgrimage for Hasidim around the world.
