The new head of the Foreign Ministry said that the absolute priority of Ukrainian diplomacy today is weapons and other needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also announced the first personnel decisions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will be reformed, and its coordination function will be strengthened. The new Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sibiga announced this at a meeting with ambassadors and consul general of Ukraine. He announced the new changes on Sunday, September 8, on his Facebook page.
The Foreign Minister also identified the priority tasks for the next few months. According to him, the Foreign Ministry must correspond to the realities of the country at war, as well as the best practices of modern diplomacy.
“He expressed very clear criteria for the effectiveness of the Ukrainian ambassador in charge of Ukraine’s Charge d’Affaires in Georgia,” the minister said.
He emphasized that now every ambassador should be “a player-coach who does not wait for instructions from the center, but acts proactively, takes responsibility and shows by his own example the power of Ukrainian diplomacy. “
Sibiga is convinced that Ukrainian diplomacy can do what is usually called impossible: “We have proven it more than once, more than ever, we must do everything in our power so that Ukraine wins, restores security and wins a just .comprehensive and sustainable world.” .
The new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced the first personnel decisions.
“There will be a new structure of the ministry, the schedules of the staff of the embassies will have to go to us young people. He announced the submission of a proposal for the dismissal of the Deputy Minister Irina Borovets, as well as the termination of the long-term business trip of the charge d’affaires ad interim in Georgia (his complete lack of understanding of the realities of state adversarial diplomacy,” summarized the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
We remind you that on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada appointed First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga as the head of the Foreign Ministry instead of Dmitry Kuleba, who the day before wrote a letter of resignation and was dismissed when earlier that day. Sibiga’s candidacy was officially nominated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
After his appointment, Sibiga promised to radically change the government’s policy towards Ukrainians abroad.
