The cyberattack on Russian resources was carried out by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On Saturday, September 7, enterprises involved in waging war against Ukraine were attacked, as well as companies involved in developing the military infrastructure of the Russian Federation. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram.
The intelligence noted that the attack was directed against the companies “SMKomplekt EK”, “KristElKom”, “KonturNIIRS”, “Chip-prof”, “Chelyabinsk Plant of Industrial Modernization”, “Sibinstrument”, “Smetka.ru” and a number of others. The “Simferopol Forum” was also attacked.
Ukrainian hackers were able to gain access to 14 servers. They destroyed the internal infrastructure of the attacked targets by erasing system files, databases and backups.
The GUR also posted a greeting for the Day of Military Intelligence of Ukraine on the websites of the attacked resources.
Let us recall that in August, GUR officers carried out a cyberattack on a Russian nuclear weapons development enterprise. As a result of the operation, Ukraine received a lot of useful information. Hackers obtained personal databases of employees, official information, and information that could shed some light on ways to circumvent sanctions.
