At the meeting of the Servant of the People faction, the president explained the rotation in the government, specifically, he said that the head of the Foreign Ministry was not energetic enough in promoting the issue of providing arms.
President Vladimir Zelensky on Wednesday, September 4, took part in a meeting of the Servant of the People group, where he explained personnel changes in the Cabinet, including the likely resignation of Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. Suspilneso reported this citing a source.
It was noted that when commenting on Kuleba’s resignation, Zelensky said that he “lacks the strength to promote the provision of arms.”
According to the publication, at the meeting there was no discussion about the additional work of the former Minister of Justice Denis Maluska, but Zelensky recalled that he himself had long wanted to move to another position.
Zelensky also noted that he is pleased with the work of former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanishina, and therefore proposes to support her and “give more opportunities.”
In the faction, the president also mentioned the creation of a “Ministry for the Return of Ukrainians,” however, interviews are still being conducted about the leader, the source said.
Faction leader David Arahamia confirmed that government personnel updates were discussed at the faction meeting. According to him, based on the results of the meeting, the factions developed a general picture of personnel rotations to strengthen the state.
According to Suspilny’s source in the faction, the president personally introduced the candidates for ministerial positions. Apart from the appointments, no other issues were discussed with the president.
We remind you that today the Verkhovna Rada is considering the proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the resignation of a number of ministers. In particular, the representatives supported the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Olga Stefanishina, Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin, Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Ruslan Strelets, and Minister of Justice Denis Maluska. It is noteworthy that of all the ministers, only Alexander Kamyshin came to the Council meeting to give a report on his work.
Also, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba wrote a letter of resignation, but consideration of this issue was postponed.
