On September 1, about 22 thousand people were evacuated from dangerous areas of the Sumy region. This was announced by the head of the Sumy Regional Administration Vladimir Artyukh on Sunday, September 1.
“In August alone, the Russians carried out more than 2,200 attacks on populated areas and territories of the Sumy region. The enemy is using powerful weapons against the civilian population, dropping guided bombs and FPV drone; to date, we have already managed to move up to 22 thousand people and we understand that the number of evacuees will increase,” said the head of OVA.
He added that now, in terms of cooperation with international and public organizations, the Sumy region aims to meet the needs of internally displaced people whose homes were destroyed by the enemy.
It was previously reported that in the Sumy region a mandatory evacuation is underway from the settlements of five communities in the Sumy region.
Restrictions were introduced on the movement of all citizens in the 20-kilometer border zone of the Sumy region.
