Despite the fact that Sudzha is located in the rear, the Russians are wiping it off the face of the earth: accusing it of guided aerial bombs (KABs), shelling it with artillery and kamikaze drones.
On August 31, the ground forces showed a photo from the Russian city of Sudzha, occupied by the Ukrainian military.
On Friday, August 30, a Russian KAB hit a local kindergarten, and enemy aircraft struck houses in the private sector in Sudzha. Of the approximately 5,000 locals, about 200 civilians remain in the city, who, according to the norms of international humanitarian law, are being helped by Ukrainian troops.
The overwhelming majority of the survivors are people of retirement age. They say that “the authorities did not warn us about anything: they abandoned us here, and that’s it.”
Recently, representatives of the new Ukrainian military commandant’s office established water supply in Sudzha so that the local population had access to drinking water. Previously, thanks to our military, this problem was solved with the help of water carriers and trucks with multi-cubic capacity tanks.
Medical assistance to civilians in Sudzha is also provided by Ukrainian military: at medical stations, in “keysevaks” and everywhere where the wounded and sick are.
