The car in which the people’s deputy was travelling was involved in an accident on the Kyiv-Odessa highway late yesterday evening.
The people’s representative was hospitalized with injuries. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv region police.
On August 28, at about 24:00, the police received a report that in the city of Bila Tserkva, at the 78th kilometer of the Kyiv-Odessa highway, in the direction of the capital, a car drove into concrete blocks, the report says.
It is noted that, according to preliminary information, the 33-year-old Toyota driver lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier.
The driver and his passenger, who turned out to be a current Ukrainian MP, were hospitalized:
- The driver was preliminarily diagnosed with spinal fractures, arm fractures and head injuries;
- The passenger was hospitalized with a suspected spinal fracture and head injury.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the accident (Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code).
The police are not disclosing the identity of the people’s deputy, but earlier the media reported that he was a member of “Servant of the People” Igor Kopytin. Subsequently, a message confirming this appeared on his Facebook page.
Unfortunately, the information about the accident on the highway was confirmed. Now Igor Kopytin and his driver are in serious condition, they really did receive serious injuries, the report says.
