Sullivan discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine with Jinping

The parties discussed scheduling a call between President Biden and President Xi in the coming weeks.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on August 29. This was reported by the White House press service on Thursday, August 29.

Among other things, the parties discussed an all-out war between Russia and Ukraine.

The meeting is part of an effort to support communication channels and responsible management of US-China relations.

During the meeting, the parties raised the following issues:

  • further implementation of the promises made by White House President Joe Biden and Xi Jinping during the Woodside summit in November 2023. We are talking about the fight against drugs, inter-military communication, and artificial intelligence;

  • a full-scale war by the Russian Federation against Ukraine;

  • South China Sea.

The two sides discussed scheduling a call between President Biden and President Xi in the coming weeks.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky spoke to world leaders from Kharkov, which was from a printing press that suffered a Russian attack.
