The consequences of the attack on the power grid will become clear by the end of the day, and preparations for winter will have to be adjusted.
This was reported by the adviser to the Prime Minister and member of the supervisory board of NEC Ukrenergo Yuriy Boyko.
It is difficult to say yet how much this attack will affect plans to restore the power grid and the ability to supply electricity to our consumers without restrictions in September-October, but I think that by the end of the day we will understand the situation, and efforts to provide energy will be promptly adjusted, Boyko said.
He recalled that before the strikes, no significant restrictions in the energy system were planned until the end of October.
It is quite obvious that based on the results of the attack it will be necessary to analyze the state of the energy system, the changes that will certainly be negative, and, accordingly, adjust plans for preparing for winter, Boyko explained.
Meanwhile, on August 26, all water supply stations in Vinnytsia stopped. Specialists need two to three hours to restore the water supply, they said at Vinnytsiaoblvodokanal.
Due to emergency power outages, we have once again stopped the city’s water supply stations: this time, unfortunately, all of them. Including the Vinnytsia Central Station (the station is powered by high-voltage lines, and the generator option will not work here). Now the entire city may experience a lack of water/low pressure. We were forced to stop smaller stations to keep water in clean water tanks. If we had not done this, we would have been restoring water supply throughout Vinnytsia for many hours in a row. We need two to three hours to reach working pressure, stabilize, and return both water and pressure to everyone,” the specialists noted.
But the water supply system of the right bank of Kyiv will operate at reduced pressure, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.
She explains that the reason is that “the national power grid is having problems again.”
Also, due to the lack of voltage, the capital’s electric transport is delayed. At the same time, the mayor’s office promises that trolleybuses and trams with the largest passenger flows will definitely be duplicated by buses.
In addition, there may be disruptions in the operation of traffic lights.
