The Norwegian government has given Ukraine permission to produce Norwegian 155mm artillery shells.
Nammo’s artillery shells can be produced in Ukraine – Kyiv has been granted a corresponding license for this. Nammo has signed an agreement facilitating the establishment of licensed production of ammunition in Ukraine by a Ukrainian defense company. This was reported by the Norwegian government.
Norway is currently contributing by donating ammunition from its own stockpiles and directly from industry, Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram said.
Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin wrote on Telegram that the Norwegian government not only allowed the transfer of the license for the production of NATO-caliber artillery shells to a Ukrainian company, but also agreed to finance this process.
He also added that this is already the second license for the production of 155 caliber shells in Ukraine; the first was a license from KNDS/Nexter.
Recall that on August 19, the Danish government announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth $115 million. It includes funds for the purchase of new military equipment through the Ukrainian defense industry and industrial pool, as well as the donation of equipment through international partners.
