The former presidential candidate said he was drawn to Trump’s candidacy by issues such as freedom of speech and the war in Ukraine.
Independent US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy has announced the suspension of his campaign and support for the Republican candidate, Donald Trump. The Washington Post reported this on Friday, August 23.
As Kennedy noted, he couldn’t get people to support him if he didn’t have a “real path to the White House.”
At the same time, Kennedy expressed his support for Trump, noting that he was attracted to Trump by issues such as freedom of speech and the war in Ukraine.
Kennedy also added that he would leave his name on the ballot in several states that would not affect the outcome of the November election.
Trump has since acknowledged the new support, calling Kennedy a “wonderful man” who is “respected by everybody.” Trump said he would have a “special guest” with him during his speech in Arizona.
It was previously reported that Trump had offered Kennedy an administration position if he dropped out of the race. After that, Kennedy’s team said they would consider ending their presidential campaign to support Trump.
