Poland has signed a contract with the United States to buy 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters to bolster its armed forces. Reuters wrote this on Tuesday, August 13.
As noted by the country’s Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, the helicopters will provide new combat capabilities for hitting targets and will replace the Mi-24.
In August 2023, the United States approved the sale of 96 AH-64E Apaches and related equipment to Poland for a total cost of approximately $12 billion.
The package contains logistics, such as helicopter maintenance equipment, airport and hangar equipment and technical support, a training package, as well as ammunition and spare parts.
Previously, Poland signed a contract worth $1.23 billion for the production of 48 M903 launchers, part of the Patriot air defense system.
