Fans sent wreaths with messages demanding BTS’ Suga be removed from the group after drunk driving an electric scooter
On Tuesday, the 13th, BTS fans held a peaceful protest in front of the HYBE building, a conglomerate that has BIGHIT MUSIC (the agency that manages BTS) as a subsidiary, by sending flower crowns with messages asking for the departure of Sucks of the group.
The action arises after Sucks having suffered an incident on the night of August 6, while driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol and being found lying on the ground by police officers who were patrolling near the location. See the image:
According to the Koreaboo portal, among the messages written on the garlands are: “Min Yoongi (baptismal name of Sucks), withdraw! Congratulations on your downfall”; “Remove Min Yoongi from the group. Your downfall is imminent.”, “Remove, Min Yoongi. Aren’t you sorry to your members?” and “Min Yoongi, withdraw from the group as an apology to the members.”
It is worth remembering that in South Korea, to drive an electric scooter, you need a license and follow traffic laws similar to those applied to car drivers, as misuse of the vehicle can cause accidents. Thus, the idol took a breathalyzer test, and after obtaining a result between 0.08 and 0.2%, he was penalized, receiving a fine and losing his driving license.
Since then, the case has been under investigation by the police and, as revealed by an officer at the Yongsan Police Station (the place where Sucks was taken after the incident), like the scooter Sucks was not a personal mobility device, as it has a maximum speed of over 25 kilometers per hour and weighs over 30 kilograms, “it may be subject to criminal punishment for drunk driving”, as reported by Dispatch.
