As of now, only one Russian submarine has been detected in the Black Sea.
This was stated on air by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, on the national telethon.
As for the Black Sea, there was a rotation there, Pletenchuk noted. The submarine that was previously in the Black Sea waters returned to its base in Novorossiysk and was replaced by a similar submarine of the same project – 636, and it is now on duty.
That is, there remains one such submarine in the Black Sea waters, he added. It is there more on combat duty than for use, which now happens extremely rarely and, as we see, extremely unsuccessfully.
He noted that no threats have yet been observed from the waters of the Sea of Azov, since after several successful defeats in this region – in particular, a drone squadron in Yeysk and a ferry in the port of Kavkaz – the enemy “made the appropriate conclusions and, as a result, left the waters in principle.”
Therefore, Azov is now effectively freed from Russian invaders, one could say so – if we take the naval component. Unfortunately, the coast remains under occupation, – Pletenchuk emphasized.
