The founder of Telegram messenger Pavel Durov said that thanks to sperm donation he became the biological father of more than 100 children. He announced this on his Telegram channel on Monday, July 29.
“They just told me that I have more than 100 biological children. How is this possible for a man who is not married and prefers to live alone?”
According to him, 15 years ago one of his friends said that he and his wife could not have children and encouraged Durov to become a sperm donor.
“The head of the clinic told me that ‘high-quality donor material’ was in short supply and that it was my civic duty to donate more sperm to anonymously help more couples,” said Durov.
He added that by 2024, his donor material had helped more than 100 couples from 12 countries become parents. He noted that at least one clinic still had his frozen sperm.
Durov said he plans to open access to his DNA so his biological children can easily find each other.
