All of Lithuania’s gas needs are now met by imports through the LNG terminal in Klaipeda. If necessary, the gas can also be pumped from Latvia, and from May 1 – through an interconnector in Poland.
“We are the first country in the EU to receive gas from Gazprom, which has become independent of gas supplies from Russia,” said Energy Minister Dainius Kreivis, calling it a turning point in energy independence. Lithuania.
