Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after talking to Ukrainian and Russian leaders, said Ankara was ready to arrange their meeting in the near future. This was announced on Saturday, April 2, by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the peace talks, People’s Deputy David Arahamia.
“Mr. Erdogan called us and Putin yesterday. And he allegedly confirmed that they were ready to organize a meeting in the near future. The date or the place is not yet known, but there is a high probability that can be said let’s say it’s in Istanbul or Ankara, that is, in Turkey, ”said the leader of the Servant of the People group.
At the same time, Arahamia noted that the Russian side confirmed Kyiv’s thesis that the preliminary versions of the documents were sufficient to conduct direct consultations between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
“Our task now is to fix as soon as possible the final stage of the issues we have already touched on, and to prepare a possible meeting of the presidents,” the head of the delegation stressed.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that in the negotiations with Russia, the Ukrainian side expects a fully formal response, in which it will be clear whether the Kremlin will continue to speak the language of ultimatums.
