Dmitry Peskov appreciates the words of Vladimir Zelensky about a possible meeting with Vladimir Putin.
Russia expects “concrete action” from Ukraine if it is really ready to conduct a “dialogue about peace.” This statement was made by Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on Monday, July 22.
“What is really behind these words, what specific plans are we talking about, what actions in this direction, if the matter is serious, we cannot yet judge any specific actions, if any,” said Peskov. commented on the words of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who admitted the possibility of negotiations with Vladimir Putin.
“This, of course, is better than the statements that any contacts on the Russian side are not included and with the head of the Russian state, of course, a conversation in one tone or another about the dialogue is better than a conversation about the goal to fight until the “last Ukrainian”, added Peskov.
It became known the other day that Vladimir Zelensky did not exclude the possibility of personal communication with Vladimir Putin to end the war.
Zelensky also said that the second Peace Summit will take place in months, not years, and that there will be Russian representatives there.
The Kremlin responded that Russia is ready for dialogue on the “Ukrainian settlement,” but Moscow must understand what will be discussed at the second Peace Summit.
