In the Odessa region, a ten-year-old boy received thermal burns and died.

The incident took place today, July 20, after lunch in the village of Myrnopillya, Bolgrad district, the press service of the Odessa region police reports.
It is noted that the message that the child had received burns was received by the police from emergency medical personnel.
It has been preliminarily established that:
- a ten-year-old boy was playing in the garage where he set fire to hay drying inside;
- the child was inspired by carbon monoxide and lost consciousness, and due to the fire he received about 40% of his body burns. Unfortunately, the boy died at the scene before the arrival of doctors;
- At this time, the deceased’s parents were at work, and the minor was being looked after by his 17-year-old brother, who left him unattended and slept in the house.
The family, which is raising three minor children, is registered with the child welfare service as having found itself in difficult life circumstances, the police noted.
The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2, Clause 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Murder) with the note “accident” is being resolved.

The police once again call on parents not to leave their children unattended, as this could lead to tragedy, the police note.
