Poltava police reported that on July 18, the Oktiabrsky District Court of Poltava determined a preventive measure for a 25-year-old resident of the Kremenchuk district – 60 days of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 60,560 hryvnia.
On July 14 at about 4:40 p.m. the Kremenchuk police received a report of the abduction of a 4-day-old baby from the postnatal room of the perinatal center.
Several hundred police officers from all districts of the region were involved in the operational search activities. The search continued using special technical means and modern technologies.
On the evening of July 16, the kidnapped child was found in the house of a 25-year-old resident of the Kremenchug district. The newborn girl was returned to the perinatal center for a full examination.
For what he committed, the defendant faces up to five years in prison.
CCTV showed a woman leaving the establishment with a large package. But detectives determined that the attacker was a transsexual man.
The detainee explains his actions by saying that he really wanted a child, which he would never be able to give birth to, so he resorted to crime. The child is fine, and law enforcement officers returned the baby to the mother at the perinatal center.
The administration of the perinatal center from which the child was kidnapped will be held criminally liable for official negligence, which led to serious consequences.
