On July 15, a meeting of the disciplinary commission of the political party “Servant of the People” was held, at which a decision was made to exclude people’s deputy Zadorozhny from the party’s ranks, the political force stated.
Party representative Yulia Paliychuk wrote that during the investigation, Nikolai Zadorozhny’s membership in the faction will be suspended, and he will also be excluded from the parliamentary TSK, where he works.
Let us recall that this people’s deputy was caught taking a bribe of 3.4 million for winning a tender for repairing a water pipeline in the Akhtyrka district of Sumy region. According to NABU, the deputy estimated his failure to obstruct the tender at this amount. As the investigation established, his kickback amounted to 10% of the contract amount, and another 4% was intended for local law enforcement officers.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and possible accomplices of the deputy and the head of the village council are being identified.
The deputy faces eight to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Before the 2019 elections, Zadorozhny was a showman and host. He worked at the event agency GB Event by Kvartal 95.
