The Office of the President of Ukraine expressed satisfaction with the results of the NATO summit taking place in Washington.
The NATO summit in Washington announced Ukraine’s irreversible path to membership in the Alliance took new steps to support Ukraine. These results are satisfactory. This was said by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Thursday, July 11.
“We are pleased with the results of the Washington summit, because the language of the documents is really strong we see that the allies have taken real steps forward I think the next stop is Ukraine, which should receive an invitation.
Ermak noted that Ukraine’s future membership in NATO has high support from Ukrainian society.
“We continue to believe that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is our national interest, our security, but also the interest of NATO,” said the head of the Office of the President.
Ermak welcomed the announcements about the provision of new air defense systems to Ukraine made at the NATO summit, but stressed that more of them are needed.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine also noted that allowing the use of long-range weapons against targets behind Russian lines would change the course of the war.
Ermak believes that changes on the front line will be possible when the partners remove all restrictions on the use of weapons, including deep in Russian territory.
“I believe this will be a real game changer and I hope the partners will understand it as soon as possible,” he explained.
Let’s remember that on July 10, the joint declaration of the NATO summit in Washington was released. The document states that Ukraine is on an “irreversible path” to membership in the Alliance.
