At 130 primary healthcare institutions, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine will install energy equipment, which will include sets of solar panels, inverters and batteries, which will ensure the stability of these medical institutions in the future.

    .

The equipment will be purchased within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of Health and the World Bank “Strengthening the Healthcare System and Saving Lives in Ukraine HEAL”. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The Minister of Healthcare Viktor Lyashko notes that regular enemy attacks on civilian infrastructure threaten the full operation of the Ukrainian medical system. Therefore, measures are being taken to provide medical institutions with opportunities for maximum autonomous operation.

Modern technologies allow us to strengthen our energy security, he emphasized. – Energy equipment installed at 130 primary health care institutions will help ensure that our patients have access to medical services regardless of the circumstances and criminal actions of Russia.

It is planned to install solar power plants within five months in the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kirovograd, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Nikolaev and Odessa regions.

Thus, the majority of regions controlled by Ukraine are covered, the Ministry of Health notes.

The presence of such power plants will allow hospitals to use solar energy as a power source and accumulate it. This will also allow institutions to significantly save on electricity costs and direct these funds to other needs.

It is also possible to charge batteries from an external network or a gasoline or diesel generator in winter and in the absence of an external network, the Ministry of Health notes.
